A US-based CEO fired 99 employees who did not attend meetings

The Reddit user claimed he joined the musical instruments market as an intern, but was fired from his job just an hour later. He shared a screenshot of the CEO’s angry Slack message on Reddit, where he fired 99 of the company’s 111 employees.

The message shows the CEO introducing himself as Baldwin, before scolding his workforce for not taking their work seriously.

“You are all fired”

“For those of you who missed the meeting this morning, consider this your official notice: You are all fired,” the music business CEO told his employees over a Slack message.

“You failed to do what you agreed to, you failed to fulfill your part of the contract, and you failed to appear at meetings you were supposed to attend and do the work.

“I will cancel all agreements between us. Please return everything you have, sign out of all accounts and remove yourself from this Slack immediately,’ the angry CEO instructed his staff.

He said that his employees have ignored the opportunity given to them by not attending the meeting. “I gave you a chance to better your life, work hard and move forward. Still, you’ve shown me that you don’t take it seriously.

“Out of 110 people, only 11 were present this morning. Those 11 get to stay. The rest of you have been eliminated,” Baldwin. wrote on slack,

He concluded his message by telling the fired employees to “get the fuck out of my business right now.”

“This is strange”

This message, predictably, did not go over well on the ‘Recruiting Hell’ Reddit forum, where any slight towards employees, real or imagined, causes outrage. However, this time, people wondered if there was more to the story than what meets the eye.

“I think the CEO failed to inform the team about that meeting. I can’t believe 99 people would miss a meeting if they were notified,” one Reddit user wrote.

“What kind of meeting was this that most of the employees did not attend? Did he send the invitation at the last minute or something? Otherwise I find it hard to believe that 99 people didn’t show up,” agreed another.

“I think there’s something else going on. You can’t fire 90% of your staff for not showing up to meetings. You create an incendiary situation so you can get rid of them without warning because there’s a big financial problem,” said one principled person.

Many others agreed that the entire situation was bizarre. However, the CEO faced criticism for his way of handling the situation.
