US-based CEO sacks 99 out of 110 employees for not attending morning meeting


The CEO of a US-based company has come under scrutiny after he sacked 99 of his 110 employees for not attending their morning meeting. In a post shared on redditAn intern at the company shared a letter from the CEO as the dismissal was announced via a Slack message. The user claimed that he had joined a company that sold musical instruments, but was fired from the job just an hour later. The message begins with the CEO introducing himself as Baldwin, after which he goes on at length, chiding employees for failing to make the most of the “opportunity” given to them and dropping the ‘F-bomb’ Scolds.

“For those of you who did not come to the meeting this morning, consider this your official notice: You are all fired. You failed to do what you agreed to, you failed to fulfill your part of the contract , and you failed to attend the meetings you were supposed to attend and work for,” read the message.

The CEO said he would cancel all agreements with employees and asked him to return whatever he had taken from the company. ,

“Sign out of all accounts, and remove yourself from this Slack immediately.”

“I gave you the opportunity to better your life, work hard, and move on. Yet, you showed me you don’t take it seriously. Out of the 110 people present this morning, only 11 were there. Those 11 got to stay. The rest of you have just been eliminated.”

The trainee said he couldn’t even show up for the job before the entire team was fired. “I received no notice of any meeting. In the slack workplace, they did not give me access to the division I was supposed to reach.”

Internet reacts

As of last updated, the post had received more than 19,000 upvotes and nearly 2,000 comments, the majority of which expressed sympathy for the workers while calling out the CEO.

One user said, “Looks like you dodged a bullet there. I doubt the work environment would be better.” Don’t even consider that there might have been some misunderstanding and people did not receive the other’s invitation.

Who is the mysterious CEO?

As soon as the Reddit post went viral, online detectives managed to focus on a man named Baldwin Odson as the CEO of the mysterious company. a cursory Look Mr Oddson’s LinkedIn page shows he is the founder of ‘The Musician’s Club’. Mr. Odson also has a hiring badge on his page, indicating that he was looking for employees to join his organization.

In a post on their page, users can be seen mocking them for firing employees due to bad behaviour. One user said, “Your lack of social skills is everywhere on Reddit bud,” while another said: “Baldwin you are famous.”

A third commented: “But why are you Baldwin deleting all your recent posts?”

This is not the first case when a CEO has controversially dismissed his employees. In September, a mental health company in India fired its employees for liking ‘toxic workplace’ posts.
